The 3rd Annual Bluegrass Yarn and Fiber Crawl was a vibrant celebration of the fiber arts community, bringing together enthusiasts, artisans, and vendors from across the Bluegrass region. This year's event was a delightful blend of creativity, learning, and community, offering something for everyone who shares a love for yarn and fiber.
The heart of the event was the sense of community it fostered. Over the course of July 26- August 4, participants traveled from shop to shop, enjoying the camaraderie of fellow fiber lovers. Whether you were a seasoned knitter, a crochet novice, or simply curious about the world of fiber arts, the Crawl offered a warm welcome and plenty of inspiration.
The 2024 Crawl featured a diverse lineup of local yarn shops, artisans and fiber farms, each offering a unique selection of yarns, fibers, animals and tools. Highlights included hand-dyed yarns in vibrant, one-of-a-kind colorways, luxurious fibers from local farms, and an array of accessories to enhance any project. Many stops also hosted special events, such as trunk shows, demonstrations, and exclusive discounts, making each stop on the Crawl a memorable experience.
Participants were able to collect stamps along their route, each stamp on their passport giving them an entry into our grand prize drawing. Prizes were also awarded for posting pictures of their crawl experiences, as well as a prize for the furthest travelled and most stamps collected. Grand prizes were graciously donated by our participating locations.
As the event wrapped up, there was already buzz about what next year’s Crawl might bring. With the growing popularity of the Bluegrass Yarn and Fiber Crawl, participants are eager to see how the event will continue to evolve, bringing new ideas and opportunities for fiber lovers across the region. The 3rd Annual Bluegrass Yarn and Fiber Crawl was a testament to the enduring appeal of the fiber arts community. We can’t wait to see what next year has in store!
